Revell Review-Love's Rescue by Christine Johnson

Hey everyone!! We got our car fixed this morning so thankfully, that was the perfect chance to write down some much needed reviewing. Double thank yous go to the fact that it was a LOT less expensive then originally thought. Thank the Lord for BIG favors!! :D

*Summary*

Can a girl enamored with the adventurous seas ever be content with the tame life of a Southern belle?

When her mother dies, Elizabeth Benjamin heads home to Key West, determined to transform herself into the perfect Southern belle her parents always wished her to be. But nothing goes according to plan. Her crippled brother resents her, the servants do not obey her, and Rourke O'Malley, the dashing man she vowed to forget, refuses to relinquish his hold on her heart. Worst of all, it becomes painfully obvious that her father is not the upright man he appears to be.

As family secrets come to light, Elizabeth is faced with a difficult choice: to do her duty and abandon her dreams, or to leave her life of privilege behind to chase the man her father sees as little better than a pirate.

From the first emotional page, author Christine Johnson throws readers into a world of impossible choices, hidden desires, and heart-melting romance in the steamy south. Readers will cheer for Elizabeth and Rourke as they battle the odds and the elements to secure their future.

*My Thoughts*

I love to read...and, once upon a time (14 was so long ago!), the ability for more reading was my favorite part of reviewing. Now, at the advance age at 15, it's discovering new, talented, sweet authors. Christine is one of those gems but now that I know what she can do, I'll be reading a lot more of her books!

I felt so much empathy for Elizabeth. Between the guilt of what she felt was her fault concerning her brother and a heart stopping love for a man she can't have, I wanted to cry for her. Both Rourke and Elizabeth were so conflicted and multiple times throughout the story, my heart physically wrenched for them. Their ability to keep their focus on God's plan for their life emphasized their great characters. Rourke was kind and loved fiercely but had the strength to let go and learn to let God take control of the situation. Elizabeth is probably one of my favorite female characters. She was so torn up with the pain of what happened all those years ago but ultimately, she learned to let God heal her wounds.

The main reason I was so intrigued was not just the gorgeous cover but the summary. If you've read the blurb and it looks like something you would enjoy, you would. It had a pretty different plot line to me, which I thought was great. Who wants to read the same thing all the time?

Even if it didn't have the sweet romance in it that it did, I would read the book just for the healing and grace portrayed throughout the book. When you add in the romance, it's a true gem!

*My overall thoughts*

Love's Rescue by Christine Johnson is a sweet romance with an extra dosage of grace, healing, and forgiveness. I can't wait to share it!
