*Summary*

Reese Clawson's work is mind-bending--literally. Her company specializes in global data analysis for an elite group of industry executives, and now a lucrative government contract is moving her into the realm of cutting-edge intelligence gathering. She is determined to crack the limits of consciousness--and in doing so, the boundaries of secrets and lies. But her experiment crashes as test subjects slide into a coma-like state. Reese is left scrambling to maintain control, drawing three disparate people into the search for answers--an adrenaline-amped thrill junkie with altered brain chemistry, an Italian scientist working on remote-viewing technology, and a math prodigy whose algorithms subvert
computer encryption.

Will this piecemeal team prevail when a government operative is sent to investigate? As the threads of perception and reality become tangled and even time itself twists in unexpected directions, one warning remains clear: what you don't know can kill you.

With a concept so daring and writing so gripping, readers will swiftly fall under the spell of Thomas Locke's endlessly creative mind. This thrilling psychological journey into the very nature of causation and consciousness will leave them turning the pages and grasping for solid ground.

                          *My Thoughts*

Hmmm. This was a tough one for me. I've told you my thoughts on most thrillers. Which is why I can't think for the life of me, why one earth I keep going back for more! I am on a countdown for all three of the NCIS series shows but there is something about thriller books that takes a lot for me to get into. Of course, I saw "book" and a familiar name so into my mailbox it went.

If you ARE into suspense...this one may just throw you through a loop. Because if you too have heard of Thomas Locke, you know that he writes fantasy as well. This one is what I call an "in-between". Not fantasy but not suspense either. Sort of a "Sci-fi mystery" that keeps you guessing. I did like it because it was different...or rather, I like the idea of it. It was just really hard for me because I am not such a scientific person. It was hard for me to understand and throughout the story, I struggled.

I did like the characters. In the beginning. Honestly though, I was constantly trying to figure out how one character or another fit into the story.

While not inappropriate for older teens, due to a serious amount of scientific talk, I feel this suspense would appeal more to the older mystery lovers.

                    *My overall thoughts*

Trial Run by Thomas Locke is more of a scientific suspense/ sci-fi then just a mystery. While the story line did appeal to me, I felt the story too confusing to keep up with for my taste. I will read Thomas Locke in the future for a second chance but this one was just not my style.
