Hey y'all!! Life has been amazingly busy and fun with the Holidays and our trip to Pennsylvania lately! I have not had as many books to read but the ones that I have had-oooh you're in for a treat!

*Summary*
Miranda did not put adventure on her Christmas list,
but thanks to her eighty-five-year-old neighbor Joy, that's exactly what she's getting this year. When Joy tells Miranda that she plans to drive an old RV decked out in Christmas decorations from their Chicago neighborhood to her new retirement digs in Phoenix--in the dead of winter, no less--the much younger Miranda insists that Joy cannot make such a trip by herself. Unemployed and facing foreclosure, Miranda feels she has nothing to lose by packing a bag and heading off with Joy toward Route 66. But Joy has a hidden agenda for their Christmas joyride--one that could derail the whole venture.

*My Thoughts*
I was thinking the other day..."Hey, I could be Santa's daughter!" Random, I know but really, that is the kind of person I am. Hot chocolate's a given, Christmas music in September, Stockings before December hits, Christmas lights on Thanksgiving, making so many cookies it looks like a bakery kind of person. I'm addicted to Christmas. I love the significance of a Savior being born in a stable for me. I love the goodwill it instills in people. I love the happiness, the sense of community. I just genuinely love it. So obviously as a Christmas fanatic and avid reader, a Christmas novella is a natural extension! This one instilled so much happiness in me the moment I "met" Miss Joy. Let me tell you why.
Miss Joy's plan for Christmas is exactly the sort of thing I would want to do. Pack up an old RV, deck it in Christmas lights, and head on a road trip cross country, helping people along the way. As a 16 year old girl, that sounds pretty doable. As an eighty-five year old woman-not so much! Joy is a sweet old lady who completely seems to have over-estimated her ability. That's where Miranda comes in. Any loving neighbor would not let Joy go by herself- at least that's what Miranda keeps telling herself. Really, she's looking for a change, maybe a little hope, and she's ready to roll!
Joining Joy and Miranda's adventure was a blast! Both characters were very sweet and a joy to hang out with. (No pun intended!) I would absolutely curl up by the fire with this one again! It really does have some funny parts as well. Perfect feel good story! Thanks Melody!
