Bethany House Review- Cold Shot by Dani Pettrey

Okay guys. I was freaking out today thinking it was the last day of February, but it's not! Happy Leap Day!! Thank goodness...that gives me one more day to get some reviews done for this month!

                     *Summary*

Four Best Friends.
And Then One Went Missing . . .

In college, Griffin McCray and his three best friends had their lives planned out. Griffin and Luke Gallagher would join the Baltimore Police Department, Declan Grey would head to the FBI, and Parker Mitchell would study to become a crime scene analyst. But then Luke vanished before graduation and their world--and friendships--crumbled.

Now years later, Griffin has left the police and his friendships behind. Still trying to forget a case that went bad when he was a SWAT team sniper, he's living a quiet life as a park ranger at Gettysburg. Quiet until skeletal remains are uncovered near Little Round Top--and they aren't Civil War-era.

Griffin just wants the case to go away, but charming forensic anthropologist Finley Scott discovers evidence pointing to the work of an expert sniper. When FBI agent Declan Grey steps in to take over the case, past and present collide. Griffin soon realizes he'll need to confront some of the darkest days of his life if he--and those he cares about--are going to escape a downward spiral of crime, danger, and murder.

   *My Thoughts*

I don't know what it is but I had a HUGE influx of mystery/suspense novels at the beginning of this month. All I know is, I could not handle that much suspense. I was overwhelmed. Then, this beautiful specimen of a book showed up in the mail and I squealed so loud, I scared my cat out of a dead sleep. It was LOUD. Why?! I ADORE Dani. Seriously. I was blessed to be a part of her Sabatoged tour last year and after that, my sister and I were so hooked, we bought the other four in the series! I've been waiting for this one ever since.

I was a little depressed that her next series wouldn't be set in Alaska, it was just SO good. Fortunately, the lovable characters, faith messages, and swoon worthy moments were just as amazing in this book as in her Alaskan Courage series.

Okay, maybe this is crazy, but the other thing I love about Dani is her obvious creativity. C'mon?! How many characters have the names Griffin and Finley? Their names match their personalities and I love that.

I also love how she does such a great job of using multiple dialogues. Most of the time, I find authors use two characters' point of views and then you wait for the next book. Not Dani. She dives right in with such grace, I'm aching for the next book before I even finish the first!

This book took me about 3 hours to devour it. Yes, 3 straight hours, I was addicted! I've read it at least three times since I first turned the pages and every time I come to the same conclusion:

Edge of your seat suspense, swoon worthy romance, and lovable characters mixed with faith and humor.

How do you get any better?! You don't. That's why I'm anxiously awaiting the next book. And the next one. And the next one. And...you get the point.

                *My overall thoughts*

Three words. Addicted. Addicted. Addicted. Okay, so that's one word but it completely describes my feelings on this book!
