Litfuse Review- Dawn at Emberwilde by Sarah Ladd

Hey everyone!! I'm sooo happy to be back! Between being sick, vbs, my birthday party, and my actual birthday (yay, more books!), life has been crazy. But I can't wait to share this awesome new historical from Sarah Ladd with you!

Isabel Creston never dared to dream that love could be hers. Now, at the edge of a forest filled with dark secrets, she faces a fateful choice between love and duty.
For as long as she can remember, beautiful and free-spirited Isabel has strained against the rules and rigidity of the Fellsworth School in the rolling English countryside. No longer a student, Isabel set her sights on a steady yet unexciting role as a teacher at the school, a safe yet stifling establishment that would provide her a steady environment to care for her younger sister Lizzie, who was left in her care after her father’s death.

The unexpected arrival of a striking stranger with news of unknown relatives turns Isabel’s small, predictable world upside down, sweeping her and her young charge into a labyrinth of intrigue and hidden motives.

At her new family’s invitation, Isabel and Lizzie relocate to Emberwilde, a sprawling estate adjacent to a vast, mysterious wood rife with mysterious rumors and ominous folklore—along with whispers of something far more sinister. And perhaps even more startling, two handsome men begin pursuing Isabel, forcing her to learn the delicate dance between attraction, the intricate rules of courtship, and the hopes of her heart.

At Emberwilde, Isabel will discover that the key to unlocking the mystery of her past may also open the door to her future and security. But first she must find it—in the depths of Emberwilde Forest.

    *My Thoughts*

Jane Austen lovers will adore this beautiful tale of love, adventure, and trust. Written with stunningly accurate historical detail and woven with suspense, I fell in love from the first page on!

Colin is the very best kind of hero. Strong, sure, honest, kind, brave, honorable...the knight in shining armor descriptors go on and on. Add in a pair of beautiful and confused sisters, a couple of suitors, and a bucketful of romance and suspense, and let the adventures begin!

While Dawn at Emberwilde is the second book in the Treasures of Surrey series, it is read as a stand alone. Find out for yourself what a treasure it is!

Don't believe that this is something even the youngest of "chapter book readers" can dig into? Check out the thoughts of my 13-year-old sister! She normally hates reading books she considers too "mature for a teenager",not so this time:

" This book is absolutely captivating, and has you hanging on to every word with a dream of what the characters are like!! I adore this book and would read it again in a heartbeat..."

    *My Rating*

I give Dawn at Emberwilde by Sarah E. Ladd...

                              5 stars!!

*I received this book from Litfuse, the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review, which I have given. All thoughts were my own and I was not compensated in any other way.

Happy Reading,
