Afternoon!! I decided since I reviewed a devotional/non-fiction this morning we needed some fairytales for this afternoon. Jen Turano will help us out with that. :)
First though, I have to share. Dani Pettrey's music playlists for Landon & Piper and Bailey & Cole's weddings. Yeah, it is on point. In fact, I've been listening to the same eight songs over & over & overr again and I still want to listen to it. Right now, this song is stuck in my head. Soooo STUCK.

Now that it's stuck in your head (your welcome!), back to Jen or rather...Harriet!

*Summary*
Harriet Peabody is somewhat embarrassed but highly outraged when a rich female snob presents her with nasty accusations and opinions instead of the pay she should receive for the hats she delivered. When the situation gets more and more out of hand and the owner of the property, Mr. Oliver Addleshaw enters the scene, Harriet knows that she will no longer be employed by the end of the day. Harriet just wants to be paid and Oliver wants to know why a female has taken up residence in his house without his knowledge. Will they both find the answers they seek? Or will a seemingly ridiculous business proposition turn out to be way more then they bargained for?
Oliver Addleshaw is perplexed. He's always had it all: Large house, money, looks...but never has he felt lacking until he meets miss Harriet Peabody. When Oliver returns home to find his not even close to-fiance living in his house he-and Harriet- is steaming mad. When the unexpected episode is over, he still finds himself intrigued by Harriet. Especially when she stomps off practically turning up her nose at HIM. When an idea to get to know her strikes him, will she go along with it or send him away?
Finally accepting his offer, Harriet does her best to do what's required of her. So far it's not a problem but when secrets are revealed will they be pleasantly surprised or horrified at what they learn?

*I loved*
I did NOT expect this book to be like it was. First, yes I lived in NY but not the city, so I really didn't know what to expect as far as location goes. It was a very cool location historically and I thought it was perfect Harriet & Oliver's setting. From first glance at this cover, you can't tell this is a mystery but the shock, surprise, and suspense in this one made it really intense!! The cover was stunning and the characters were different from others I've read about.

*Not my
favorite*
As I previously mentioned in the "I loved" section, this book is surprisingly suspenseful. Basically, what I'm saying is, if you're looking for a simple historical book, Jen's book is way more in depth then that.
