Litfuse Review- The Finishing School by Valerie Woerner

Hey fellow book-nerd-peeps! Today's book is absolutely perfect for me...and hopefully you too! I've been in a funk lately. Seventy five percent of that is probably because of an extreme lack in reading material...as you can probably see from my lack of posts. That'll change though, I promise!

*Summary*

Are you in a funk? In a rut you feel like you can't escape?In today's world, our most precious pursuit of a life well lived gets squeezed out by the silliest of things: bringing on Netflix or ice cream, shopping trips for things we don't need, bad habits we can't seem to get a handle on, and so much more. Valerie has been there despite knowing what she wanted for her life. Actually do it? That's the challenge. After gobbling up all the non-fiction and self-help books her donut-filled belly could handle, she decided it was time to put her knowledge to good use and start actually living it out. You will hear about her journey through victories and plenty of failures and find practical tips to apply to your own pursuit of holiness. You will find homework at the end of each chapter that includes a worksheet to put real change in motion for your own life as well as recommended books to further study those topics that really test you.

 *My Thoughts*

I am in such a funk right now. Also, I feel like every review for this book is going to start like this, but at least we are consistent! Right?! Anyways, I needed a change and this book is fantastic!

Valerie writes in a very real way. She shares humor, thoughts, and ways  to help refine your life. There is no "fake" in this book. Not one. Little. Bit. She gives it just as she's learned it and I am convinced, it's gonna help a ton of people. 

There's a special 'homework' assignment at the end of each chapter to keep track of your progress e.t.c! Who would have thought that fellow book nerds, 'knowledge junkies' as another delightful reviewer put it, would struggle with the same things as me? I truly believe that this book was meant for me...but not just me, all of you as well!! Wonderfully written, you really need to read each chapter slowly...savor them, so-to-speak, to get the effect.

The Finishing School by Valerie Woerner is truly a different style of book. Written by a 'kindred spirit', Valerie takes our love for head knowledge and turns it into something you can grasp for your own life.
