Revell Review- Every Bride Needs a Groom by Janice Thompson

Evening y'all!! I don't have much time on here so I'll make it quick but you DON'T want to miss this one if you're into humor!

                           *Summary*
Somewhere in a sea of tulle and taffeta, satin and crepe, Katie Fisher needs to find a key ingredient of the perfect wedding--the groom.
Small-town girl Katie Fisher is busy planning her fairy-tale wedding. Sure, her boyfriend hasn't managed to pop the question just yet, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't enter a contest in Texas Bride magazine to win the dress of her dreams, right? Anyway, she's sure he'll be getting down on one knee any time now. And a one-of-a-kind designer dress doesn't just fall out of the sky right when you need it.

But when Katie's boyfriend takes a job in another town and breaks up with her--on the very same day she wins her dream dress--her world is turned upside down. Dare she go to Dallas to claim her prize? And will the hunky pro basketball player who runs the beyond-swanky bridal shop--yeah, you read that right--discover her humiliating secret if she does?

                 *My Thoughts*

Hunky. Yep. That's the exact word I'd use to describe the male protagonist. Only thing that made him more awesome was that he didn't know it. Kate did but she didn't know how beautiful she was either...combine that and WHOA! More of Janice's best!
 Such a stunning cover too!

Enough about the looks. I could RELATE with these characters! Drew's pain. Kate's insicurities and confusion when her boyfriend broke up with her after YEARS of dating. This is the stuff good, no great, novels are made of! Add in Janice's signature humor and you have the perfect light-hearted book!!

The grandmother was my favorite character!! Such a spunky lady!! She was really what brought a depth to Kate's family life besides her annoying but sweet brothers.

The Christian side to this book was unmistakable but not pushy at all! An example:

“My dad would tell me to pray about it and then wait on God’s timing. He’d remind me of the Scripture about how with God all things are possible."

Is that not awesome?! Points (or should I say stars!) go to Janice again!

                  *My overall thoughts*

Janice Thompson is the best wedding writer ever!! Without the extreme depth some books carry, Janice writes with a light yet strong hand with plenty of humor along the way! Fabulous characters make for a swoon-worthy story we girls all love!
